Northamptonshire Day is October 25th – the feast day of Saint Crispin
The county is famously a centre of the shoe making industry
and Saint Crispin is the patron saint of cobblers, or shoemakers
A traditional fayre is held in his honour in Northampton, the county town. This date was selected by the public from several options, in a vote held concurrently with the county flag competition. The Northamptonshire flag was raised at County Hall on the first Northamptonshire Day, October 25th 2014.
